Dominic Corness was born on 5 May 2003 in Liverpool, England, and has spent the majority of his footballing life within the Liverpool FC academy system, having joined their age-group teams from the age of five. He signed his first professional contract with the club in 2021, followed by an updated deal in November 2022, and earned his unofficial first-team appearance in a friendly against Olympique Lyonnais at the Dubai Super Cup in December of that year.
Seeking regular first-team football, Corness moved to Swiss Super League side Yverdon Sport on a season-long loan in July 2023, making his league debut away at FC Zürich on 23 July 2023. He returned to England in February 2025, signing for Gillingham in EFL League Two for the remainder of the season, before leaving Liverpool permanently at the end of the 2024–25 campaign.
Corness then joined Welsh Cymru Premier side The New Saints from 1 July 2025, making his competitive debut in the UEFA Champions League preliminary round — a 0-0 draw against Macedonian club KF Shkëndija — and went on to play in every league match during his first season with the club. The move represents a meaningful opportunity for him to build consistent senior minutes.
Known for his refined passing ability — earning him the nickname "the wand" — Corness is a technically-minded central midfielder with an eye for distribution. He has represented England at under-20 level, making his debut for that side in March 2023.
