Vitor Roque Ferreira Souza was born on 28 February 2005 in Timóteo, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He came through the youth setup of Cruzeiro before transferring to Athletico Paranaense in 2022, where he played alongside Bruno Guimarães's brother and emerged as one of the most exciting teenage forwards in South American football.
In summer 2023 Barcelona agreed to sign him for around €30 million, with the deal completing in January 2024 once he turned eighteen. His Barcelona debut was complicated by competition from established forwards Robert Lewandowski and others, and across his first half-season he struggled to find consistent minutes despite scoring a memorable late winner against Osasuna.
In summer 2024 he was loaned to Real Betis for the 2024-25 season, where he settled into a more central forward role and scored a respectable run of LaLiga goals. In summer 2025 he transferred to Palmeiras on a permanent deal, returning to Brazil where he became the focal point of Abel Ferreira's attack ahead of the 2025-26 season.
For Brazil he debuted in 2023 at the age of eighteen, scoring on his international debut against Bolivia. He has continued as a senior squad option through Copa América 2024 and the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, where he competes with Endrick and the senior options for centre-forward selection.
Standing 1.72 m, Vitor Roque is a right-footed centre-forward whose low centre of gravity, acceleration over short distances and explosive finishing have earned him the nickname "Tigrinho" (Little Tiger). His style — relentless pressing of defenders, short-distance finishing and willingness to run beyond the defensive line — draws comparisons to a young Sergio Agüero.
