Andreas Schjelderup hails from Bodø, Norway, where he began his football journey in the youth academy of Bodø/Glimt. He made a significant impact during his time at Nordsjælland in Denmark, becoming the club's record youngest goalscorer in the Superliga. His debut came at the age of 16, and he quickly established himself as a talented player with a knack for scoring goals.
In January 2023, Schjelderup made a move to S.L. Benfica, signing a five-year contract for a reported fee of around €14 million. Initially, he faced challenges breaking into the first team, making a limited number of appearances. However, during the 2023-24 season, he returned to Nordsjælland on loan, where he was recognized as the spring season's best player by league managers.
Renowned for his skillful and technical play, Schjelderup primarily operates as a left-winger but can also function in multiple offensive positions. He is now gearing up for a crucial phase at Benfica, where he has the potential to further develop his career and make substantial contributions to the team.
On the international stage, Schjelderup has represented Norway's youth teams and made his senior debut in 2024.
