Dean Ruben James is a left-back developed in the Netherlands, beginning his senior career with Jong Volendam and FC Volendam. After Volendam released him at the end of the 2022-23 season, he joined Go Ahead Eagles on a three-year contract in July 2023. Born in Leiden, he later chose to represent Indonesia internationally and made his senior debut in March 2025 in a World Cup qualifier against Australia.
