Francisco Calvo is a Costa Rican centre-back born in 1992. A former Saprissa youth player, he studied and played college football in the United States before building a professional career that included Herediano, Santos de Guápiles, Minnesota United, Chicago Fire, San Jose Earthquakes, Konyaspor, Juárez and Hatayspor. He later joined Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. Calvo has been a senior Costa Rica international since 2011, reached more than 100 caps and has captained the national team.
