Ignacio Jesús Laquintana Marsico was born on 1 February 1999 in Paysandú. Defensor Sporting developed him as a quick, direct wide player who attacks defenders with the ball.
He moved through Peñarol and Red Bull Bragantino, where Brazilian football sharpened his off-ball running. In February 2026 he joined Huesca on loan.
At Huesca he arrived as an attacking reinforcement, expected to add right-sided speed and one-versus-one play. His task is turning flashes into weekly consistency.
For Uruguay he entered the senior group during Bielsa's cycle as staff tested pressing wide players. His international role is still emerging, but the tactical fit is clear.
Around 1.73 m and right-footed, Laquintana is a winger or attacking midfielder with acceleration and directness. He has some Brian Rodríguez vertical energy in a more compact frame.
