Romain Faivre was born on 14 July 1998 in Asnières-sur-Seine, France. He came through Monaco's academy, a technical environment that shaped him as a left-footed attacking midfielder. After limited senior chances at Monaco, he moved to Brest in 2020, a decision that gave him the platform to play regularly and become one of Ligue 1's most creative young players.
At Brest he flourished as a wide creator and interior attacker, combining dribbling, set-piece quality and left-footed final balls. Lyon signed him in 2022, but the move did not become the smooth step up many expected. Loans and later moves, including time back in Brittany and a Bournemouth connection, made his career less linear than his early Brest form suggested.
By May 2026 Faivre was a Bournemouth player, though parts of his recent club life have involved loans and role changes. Bournemouth view him as a technical attacking midfielder who can operate from the right, inside channels or as a creative substitute. His challenge is consistency: turning elegant touches into repeatable Premier League impact.
Internationally, Faivre has represented France at youth level but has not established a senior national-team role. Given France's depth in attacking midfield and wide areas, that is not surprising. His international prospects depend on sustained club form rather than reputation alone.
Around 1.80 m and left-footed, Faivre is a creative midfielder with close control, disguised passes and strong dead-ball technique. His style has traces of a less explosive Riyad Mahrez from the right side, or a more wandering version of Hatem Ben Arfa without the same raw power.
