Alvaro Barreal is an Argentine winger and wing-back who began his senior career with Velez Sarsfield. FC Cincinnati signed him in 2020, and he became one of the club’s key wide players in Major League Soccer, contributing goals, assists and set-piece quality. He later moved to Cruzeiro on loan. Barreal has been noted for left-footed delivery, direct running and the ability to play either as an advanced winger or a deeper left-sided wing-back.
