Callum Hudson-Odoi was born on 7 November 2000 in Wandsworth, London, and joined Chelsea's academy from Charlton Athletic at the age of six. He progressed steadily through the youth ranks, contributing to back-to-back FA Youth Cup victories in 2017 and 2018 before earning his senior debut as a substitute in an FA Cup match against Newcastle United in January 2018.
A direct, skilful winger with the ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, Hudson-Odoi attracted serious interest from Bayern Munich during the 2018–19 season but chose to remain at Chelsea, signing a five-year contract in September 2019. He went on to be part of the Chelsea squad that won the UEFA Champions League in 2021, as well as the UEFA Europa League in 2019, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2021.
On the international stage, Hudson-Odoi won the FIFA U-17 World Cup with England in 2017. In March 2019, he became the youngest player to debut in a competitive match for the senior England side, coming on as a substitute in a 5–0 UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier victory over the Czech Republic at the age of 18 years and 135 days.
He joined Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis in September 2023, and quickly became a consistent contributor, finishing the 2023–24 Premier League season with eight league goals. Forest represent a platform for Hudson-Odoi to establish himself as a regular starter at the top level of English football.
