Evanilson, full name Francisco Evanilson de Lima Barbosa, was born on 6 October 1999 in Fortaleza, Brazil. He developed through Fluminense's academy and took early senior steps in Brazil before a short move to Tombense and a decisive transfer to Europe. His youth profile was built around penalty-area movement, quick finishing and the ability to press from the front.
FC Porto signed him in 2020, and Portugal became the stage on which he matured from prospect into Champions League-level striker. At Porto he won domestic titles, scored regularly in the Primeira Liga and produced important European performances, learning to play in a possession-dominant side that still demanded aggressive pressing without the ball.
Bournemouth signed Evanilson in summer 2024 for a major fee, making him one of the club's most significant attacking investments. By May 2026 he was the central forward around whom much of Bournemouth's pressing and penalty-box threat was built. His adaptation to the Premier League has centred on matching physical defenders while preserving the timing that made him effective at Porto.
For Brazil he has been around the senior national-team conversation and received call-up recognition, though he has not yet become a regular Seleção starter. Brazil's forward pool is extremely competitive, so continued Premier League scoring and all-round contribution are the clearest route toward a larger role.
Around 1.83 m and right-footed, Evanilson is a mobile number nine who presses, attacks near-post spaces and finishes with short back-lift shots. He is not a classic target man; his profile sits closer to Gabriel Jesus with more penalty-box occupation, or a leaner Roberto Firmino with fewer playmaking responsibilities.
