Francisco "Fran" García Torres was born on 14 August 1999 in Bolaños de Calatrava, Spain. He came through Real Madrid's academy and was promoted to Real Madrid Castilla before signing for Rayo Vallecano in 2020 — a deal that included a buy-back clause. Three full La Liga seasons at Rayo, where he became one of the league's most reliable left-backs, prompted Real Madrid to exercise that clause and bring him back to the Bernabéu in summer 2023 for around €5 million.
Since returning he has served as a rotation left-back behind Ferland Mendy, accumulating regular minutes across La Liga and the Champions League and contributing to the 2023–24 La Liga and Champions League double, the UEFA Super Cup, the Spanish Supercopa, and the FIFA Club World Cup haul. Mendy's recurring injury issues have repeatedly given Fran García starter responsibilities; through spring 2026 he had logged 673 La Liga minutes with one goal and one assist (and one red card) for the 2025–26 season.
Fran García has represented Spain at U17, U19, U21 and senior levels, debuting for the senior team in 2023. A 169 cm left-back built on speed, stamina and overlapping runs, he is among the quickest defenders in La Liga and is celebrated for his attacking output from the left flank as much as for his recovery work in defence.
