Leon Bailey is a Jamaican right winger born in Kingston in 1997. After leaving Jamaica for Europe as a teenager, he developed with clubs in Austria, Slovakia and Belgium before beginning his senior career with Genk. His performances there earned Belgian young player honours and a 2017 move to Bayer Leverkusen, where he became a regular Bundesliga attacker. Aston Villa signed him in 2021, and he later spent time on loan at Roma. Bailey represented Jamaica at under-23 level before becoming a senior international in 2019.
