Lawrence Vigouroux was born on 19 November 1993 in London, England, to a Chilean family background. He grew up in English academy football, spending time with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool as a young goalkeeper, and his early career was shaped by the need to find senior matches outside the most glamorous parts of the English system.
He built that career through loans and permanent spells, most notably at Swindon Town and Leyton Orient. At Orient he became a standout goalkeeper in League Two and League One football, admired for his shot-stopping and command of the box, and he helped the club through an upward period that made him one of the most respected keepers outside England's top divisions.
Burnley brought him into a higher-level environment and Swansea City later gave him a platform in the Championship.
