Takuma Nishimura was born on 22 October 1996 in Nagoya. He came through Vegalta Sendai's youth ranks before moving to CSKA Moscow in 2020. After spells in Russia and Japan (Vegalta Sendai), he joined Yokohama F. Marinos and then Servette FC in Switzerland on loan in 2024 (where he won the Schweizer Pokal in 2023–24). After returning to F. Marinos, he moved to Machida Zelvia in January 2025.
His Machida career has been outstanding. The 2025 J1 season produced 30 J1 League matches with 7 goals and 4 assists, plus 6 AFC Champions League Elite matches with a goal — Machida's senior creative attacker.
For Japan, Nishimura was a member of the squads that won the EAFF E-1 Football Championship in 2022 and 2025. He scored 3 goals in 14 senior friendly and tournament appearances in 2025.
A 178cm two-footed attacking midfielder / forward with vision, ball-control and the goal-scoring instinct of a senior J1 attacker, Nishimura has been a Japan call-up across multiple senior camps. He is a candidate for the wider 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as a senior attacker option.
