Weverton is a Brazilian goalkeeper who rose with Athletico Paranaense after earlier spells at Corinthians and smaller clubs. He saved the decisive penalty for Brazil in the 2016 Olympic final, securing the country’s first Olympic football gold medal. He later joined Palmeiras and became a key goalkeeper in Copa Libertadores and domestic title wins. Weverton has also been part of Brazil senior squads, including World Cup and Copa America selections.
