Yasin Ayari was born on 6 October 2003 in Solna, Sweden, to Tunisian heritage. He came through AIK Stockholm and made his Allsvenskan debut as a teenager. In January 2023 Brighton & Hove Albion signed him for around €6 million. After loan spells at Coventry and Blackburn in the English Championship, he established himself in the Brighton first team in summer 2024.
His 2024–25 Premier League debut season was outstanding: 34 league matches with 2 goals and an assist as a central midfielder for Brighton's possession-based football. The 2025–26 campaign has produced his best output yet — 27 Premier League matches with 3 goals and 3 assists, plus a goal in 2 EFL Cup matches and FA Cup contributions.
For Sweden, Ayari scored a goal in 6 UEFA Nations League matches in 2024 and contributed a goal and 2 assists in 7 World Cup 2026 qualifying matches — strong international output for a 22-year-old. He has continued in 4 senior friendlies in 2025 with another goal.
A 172cm two-footed central midfielder with vision, dribbling ability and the technical security to dictate tempo from deep, Ayari is one of Sweden's brightest creative midfielders. He is a strong candidate for the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad and a long-term replacement for senior creators like Mattias Svanberg in central positions.
