Jason Sean Steele is an English goalkeeper born in Newton Aycliffe on 18 August 1990. Developed by Middlesbrough, he signed his first professional contract in 2009 and gained senior experience on loan at Northampton Town before becoming Middlesbrough's first-choice goalkeeper. He later played for Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland, then joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018. Steele made his Brighton debut in the FA Cup in January 2019 and his Premier League debut in November 2021. He has represented England from under-16 to under-21 level and was part of Great Britain's football squad for the 2012 London Olympics.
