Yahya Ali Saeed Al-Ghassani was born on 18 April 1998 in the United Arab Emirates. He came through the domestic system as a quick winger and attacking midfielder, developing the close control and improvised dribbling that have long been prized in Emirati football.
His senior career became strongly associated with Shabab Al Ahli, where he grew into one of the UAE Pro League's leading local attackers. In a squad often filled with experienced foreign forwards, Yahya earned his role by attacking defenders directly, producing goals in big domestic matches and contributing to title-chasing campaigns.
As of 2026 he remains with Shabab Al Ahli and continues to be one of the club's key Emirati attacking players. His role can move between left wing, right wing and inside forward, and he is at his best when the team can isolate him against a full-back with runners arriving around him.
For the United Arab Emirates he became a regular through the 2022 and 2026 World Cup cycles and was part of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup squad. He scored important qualifying goals, including during the 2026 campaign, and is one of the players asked to carry the attacking identity of a team trying to emulate the 1990 World Cup side.
Yahya is a right-footed winger with sharp changes of direction, a low centre of gravity and the confidence to shoot after cutting inside. His style naturally invites comparison with Omar Abdulrahman as an Emirati creator, though Yahya is more direct and wing-oriented; in wider Asian terms, he resembles a compact version of Salem Al-Dawsari.
