Caio Henrique Oliveira Silva was born on 31 July 1997 in Santos, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. He came through the youth setup of Santos before transferring to Atlético Madrid in 2017, although he never made a senior appearance for the Spanish club and spent his time on loan at Paraná, Fluminense and Grêmio.
In summer 2020 Monaco bought him outright for around €8 million, and the move transformed his career. Across five seasons in Ligue 1 he established himself as one of the league's most attack-minded left-backs, regularly producing double-digit assist totals and helping Monaco return to the UEFA Champions League.
He has captained Monaco on numerous occasions during senior absences and is consistently picked out by opposing managers as one of the most difficult Ligue 1 left-backs to defend against. His left-footed crossing and willingness to overlap up the channel make him a focal point of Monaco's attack.
For Brazil he debuted in 2021 and won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with the under-23 side. He has appeared in senior squads through the Copa América 2024 and the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, generally as cover for Renan Lodi or Wendell.
Standing 1.78 m, Caio Henrique is a left-footed full-back whose dead-ball delivery, overlapping speed and attacking instinct profile him as a Ligue 1 prototype attacking left-back, drawing stylistic comparisons with Layvin Kurzawa in his Monaco days and a more athletic version of Filipe Luís.
