Simon Adingra was born on 1 January 2002 in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire. He moved through the Right to Dream pathway and joined FC Nordsjælland in Denmark, where the club's development model gave him space to refine his dribbling, pressing and final-third decision-making.
Brighton & Hove Albion signed him in 2022 and loaned him to Union Saint-Gilloise, where he impressed in Belgium and in European competition. Returning to Brighton, he became an important Premier League wide player, combining one-versus-one threat with the tactical discipline demanded by Roberto De Zerbi's positional style.
By May 2026 Adingra is listed as a Sunderland midfielder in the Premier League. In that setting he gives Sunderland proven top-flight wing quality: speed, directness, pressing and the ability to create chances without needing the entire attack to be built around him.
For Côte d'Ivoire he became a major figure during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, helping the Elephants win the tournament on home soil and producing decisive contributions in the knockout stages. That tournament turned him from promising winger into a nationally celebrated player.
Standing around 1.75 m, Adingra is a right-footed winger who can play from either side but is especially dangerous when isolating full-backs. His acceleration, stop-start dribbling and calm final pass invite comparisons with a young Sadio Mané, though Adingra is more of a wide creator than a central scorer at this stage.
