Daniel Sumalla is a Miami-born centre-back in the Inter Miami pathway. He moved to Catalonia as a child before returning to the United States in 2018, then developed through local clubs and joined Inter Miami's U-17 academy squad in 2024. After moving up to the U-19s, he quickly reached Inter Miami II and made his professional debut in May 2025. In 2026, the club signed him to a short-term first-team agreement from its MLS NEXT Pro side for an away doubleheader against Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake.
