He developed at Vitória de Guimarães and moved to Porto, with a successful loan spell at Nice helping establish him at senior European level. Leicester City signed him in 2018, and he quickly became a standout Premier League right-back before injuries disrupted later seasons. Pereira has represented Portugal since youth level and was part of the senior squad that won the 2019 UEFA Nations League.
