David Uyoyo Odogu was born on 3 June 2006 in Berlin, Germany, with Nigerian heritage through his father. He came through German youth football and joined VfL Wolfsburg's youth setup in 2020. He made his senior Bundesliga debut for Wolfsburg in the 2024-25 season, appearing in three matches.
On 1 September 2025 AC Milan signed him for around €10 million, and he made his Rossoneri debut in a Coppa Italia match against Lecce on 23 September 2025.
Internationally, Odogu has been a part of Germany's most successful U17 generation, winning both the 2023 UEFA U17 European Championship and the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup. He has since featured for Germany's U18, U19 and U20 teams, and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young centre-backs in European football.
A tall, physical defender with strong tackling ability and the ability to operate on either side of central defence, Odogu has drawn comparisons to Antonio Rüdiger from German analysts, and at Milan he is being integrated carefully behind the senior centre-back options.
