Luis Suárez is a Uruguayan striker from Salto. He began with Nacional, moved to Groningen and Ajax, then became a major forward for Liverpool, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid before later spells with Nacional, Grêmio and Inter Miami. With Barcelona he won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, and with Atlético Madrid he won another league title. For Uruguay, Suárez became the national team's record goalscorer, won the 2011 Copa América, and played at four World Cups before retiring from international football in 2024.
