Santiago Ignacio Bueno Sciutto was born on 9 November 1998 in Montevideo. Peñarol developed him before Barcelona signed him as a teenager for their B structure.
Girona became his real senior platform, where he helped the club rise and compete in LaLiga. He learned to defend space and play through pressure in a Spanish system.
Wolverhampton Wanderers signed him in 2023. By May 2026 he remained a Premier League defender with interest around him despite difficult team seasons.
For Uruguay he debuted in the 2020s and entered the centre-back rotation. His European background and ability to play in a back three or four are useful in tournament squads.
