Luis Guilherme Lira dos Santos was born on 9 February 2006 in Aracaju, Brazil. He came through Palmeiras' academy, one of South America's most productive development systems, and was part of the same broader generation that placed several teenage Brazilian attackers on the European market.
At Palmeiras he progressed quickly through youth football and made his senior debut as a teenager. His minutes were managed carefully, but his acceleration, close control and ability to receive between midfield and attack made him a high-value prospect. European clubs followed him closely before West Ham United moved to bring him to England.
West Ham United signed him as a long-term attacking investment. In the Premier League environment he is being asked to adapt to a faster, more physical game while keeping the spontaneity that made him attractive in Brazil. He can play as a right winger, attacking midfielder or inside forward, and his West Ham story is still very much update pending.
For Brazil he has represented youth national teams and is viewed as part of the post-2006 attacking generation. Senior Seleção involvement is not yet established, but Brazilian forwards with Palmeiras backgrounds are monitored closely, and his development in England will influence how quickly that conversation becomes realistic.
Standing around 1.75 m, Luis Guilherme is a left-footed attacker with sharp acceleration, tight dribbling and an instinct for playing on the half-turn. His profile has drawn comparisons with a young Bernardo Silva because of his left-footed balance and ability to work inside from wide areas, though he remains at the prospect stage.
