Loïc Séri Badé was born on 11 April 2000 in Sèvres, France, and is of Ivorian heritage. He came through French academies and joined Le Havre's youth setup in 2016, making his Ligue 2 debut on 10 January 2020. He signed with RC Lens as a senior, before joining Stade Rennais (2021-2023), where he developed into a reliable Ligue 1 defender.
His breakthrough came on a January 2023 loan to Sevilla — Sevilla retained him permanently after he contributed to their 2022-23 Europa League victory, including a goal in the quarter-finals against Manchester United. In August 2025 Bayer Leverkusen signed him on a five-year contract, and he wears the number 5 shirt.
For France, Badé made his senior debut on 8 June 2025 in a UEFA Nations League match. He won an Olympic silver medal at Paris 2024, finished third at the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League and was made a Knight of the National Order of Merit in 2024.
Standing 1.91 m, Badé is a tall, athletic centre-back with strong aerial ability, recovery defending and clean ball-playing — the kind of senior, big-club-ready defender Leverkusen wanted to anchor their back line alongside Edmond Tapsoba and Jonathan Tah's previous role.
