Nicolás Iván González was born on 6 April 1998 in Escobar, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. He developed through Argentinos Juniors' youth system, made his professional debut in 2016, and earned a 2018 move to VfB Stuttgart in Germany. He featured in both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga before Fiorentina signed him in 2021, where he became one of Serie A's more dynamic wide attackers across three full seasons.
Juventus took him on a 2024–25 loan with an obligation to buy and completed the permanent transfer in summer 2025 for around €28.1 million. In September 2025 he joined Atlético Madrid on loan, scoring on his debut to help seal a 2–0 win and giving Diego Simeone a multi-position attacking option through the rest of the season.
González has earned 50 caps and six goals for Argentina, helping La Albiceleste to the 2024 Copa América title — coming on for an injured Lionel Messi in the final — and winning the 2022 CONMEBOL–UEFA Cup of Champions and Olympic gold at the 2019 Pan American Games. A 1.80 m right-footed forward who plays as a left winger or off the front line, he combines pace, power, and intelligent movement, with the ability to play multiple roles across an attacking front three. With 254 club appearances and 66 goals in his career through April 2026, he is a proven Serie A scorer trying to find a similar rhythm in La Liga.
