Weston McKennie is an American midfielder born in Little Elm, Texas, on 28 August 1998. After spending part of his youth in Germany, he developed in the FC Dallas academy before joining Schalke 04 in 2016. He broke into Schalke's first team in the Bundesliga and became known for his ball-winning, pressing and ability to play several midfield roles. In 2020 he moved to Juventus, initially on loan, and later signed permanently after winning the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. McKennie has been a regular for the United States national team since 2017, played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and was part of multiple CONCACAF Nations League-winning squads.
