André-Frank Zambo Anguissa was born on 16 November 1995 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and holds dual Cameroonian-French nationality through his mother. He started his professional career at Stade de Reims in France, joined Marseille in 2015 and reached the 2018 Europa League final against Atlético Madrid.
In 2018 Fulham signed him for a then-club-record fee. After the club's Premier League relegation he spent 2019-20 on loan at Villarreal in La Liga. In 2021 he joined Napoli on loan, with the move made permanent in May 2022. He scored his first Champions League goal against Liverpool in September 2022 and his debut Serie A brace against Torino soon after, and was a foundation player as Napoli ended a 33-year wait for the Scudetto in 2022-23. He won Serie A again in 2024-25, was named to the 2023 CAF Team of the Year and earned Serie A Player of the Month in January and October 2025.
For Cameroon he has been a senior international since 2017, featuring at multiple Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2022 World Cup.
A 1.84 m central midfielder, Anguissa is built around physical robustness, ball-winning, aerial duels and reliable distribution, often serving as the box-to-box engine alongside Lobotka in front of the defence.
