Miguel Gutiérrez was born on 27 July 2001 in Madrid, Spain, and came through Real Madrid's academy, including Real Madrid Castilla. He made his senior Real Madrid debut in 2020-21 and saw limited first-team minutes in La Liga before being sold to Girona in 2022 in a deal that included a buy-back clause for the parent club.
At Girona he became a regular starter and was a key part of the side that recorded the club's best-ever La Liga finish, qualifying for the Champions League. In 2025 Napoli signed him as part of their summer rebuild, adding him as a younger long-term left-back option alongside Mathías Olivera and Leonardo Spinazzola. He was part of the squad that won the 2025-26 Supercoppa Italiana.
He has represented Spain across multiple youth levels, including the U21s.
A 1.79 m left-footed left-back, Gutiérrez combines technical comfort on the ball with attacking instincts and the kind of build-up quality the Real Madrid academy is known for, profiling exactly as the type of modern, possession-friendly full-back Napoli's recent coaches have wanted on the left flank.
