Patrik Schick was born on 24 January 1996 in Prague, Czech Republic. He came through Sparta Prague's youth system before a 2015-16 loan at Bohemians 1905 (8 goals in 27 games) earned him a move to Italy with Sampdoria, where he scored 11 goals in his Serie A debut season.
Roma signed him in 2017 but he managed only 5 goals across three seasons there before a 2019-20 loan at RB Leipzig (10 goals in 28 games) revitalised him. In September 2020 Bayer Leverkusen signed him for €26.5 million. The 2021-22 season was extraordinary: 24 goals in 27 league matches placed him second in the Bundesliga scoring chart and earned him Leverkusen's Player of the Season award. He was a key part of Leverkusen's historic 2023-24 unbeaten Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal double, and reached the 2024 Europa League final.
For the Czech Republic he was a star of Euro 2020, finishing as joint top scorer with five goals — including a 45-metre strike against Scotland that was named the tournament's Goal of the Tournament.
A 1.91 m two-footed centre-forward, Schick combines size, technique and a clinical first touch. After fitness setbacks he has remained one of the Bundesliga's most respected senior strikers, capable of leading the line in high-stakes European fixtures.
