Christian Michel Kofane was born on 26 July 2006 in Douala, Cameroon, and holds dual Cameroonian-French citizenship after relocating to France with his parents during childhood. His breakthrough came through Spanish side Albacete Balompié's youth academy, which he joined in November 2024 from AS Nylon, scoring six goals in six matches in the Juvenil division before earning a first-team promotion.
His professional debut came on 11 January 2025, when he started and scored the opener in a 2-2 Segunda División home draw against Racing de Santander. The season produced eight goals and major European interest. On 11 July 2025 Bayer Leverkusen paid above his €5 million release clause and signed him on a four-year contract.
He made an instant impact in Germany. On 1 October 2025 he scored against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, becoming Leverkusen's youngest-ever scorer in the competition at 19 years and 67 days. Internationally he made his Cameroon senior debut in December 2025 for the Africa Cup of Nations and scored against Mozambique and South Africa during the tournament, earning around six caps and two goals.
A 1.88 m centre-forward, Kofane combines size, pace and clinical finishing — exactly the profile Leverkusen wanted to refresh their post-Schick striker rotation, with senior strikers ageing.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
