Gonzalo García Torres was born on 24 March 2004 in Madrid, Spain, and joined Real Madrid's La Fábrica academy at ten. After captaining the club's U19 side to a domestic treble in 2022–23 he was promoted permanently to Real Madrid Castilla, and in August 2023 received his first senior call-up after an injury to Vinícius Júnior.
The 2024–25 season was his breakout: 25 goals in 36 Primera Federación appearances made him the division's top scorer and equalled the all-time single-season record at that level for a Castilla forward. He scored his first goal for the senior side on 5 February 2025, a late header in a Copa del Rey quarter-final against Leganés. Xabi Alonso handed him a starting role at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where he repaid the faith with four goals in six matches and the tournament's Golden Boot, even with Real Madrid eliminated in the semi-finals. On 8 August 2025 the club announced a contract extension keeping him at the Bernabéu through June 2030.
García is a versatile 1.82 m forward who can operate as a centre-forward, a second striker, or off either flank. His movement, finishing instincts, and academy pedigree have drawn comparisons to Raúl González. He has represented Spain at U18, U19, and U21 levels, including the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, and is widely viewed as one of the most promising attackers in La Fábrica's recent generations.
