Antonio "Toni" Fernández Casino was born on 15 July 2008 in Rubí, Barcelona, Catalonia. He joined Barcelona's La Masia in 2018, switching from local rivals Espanyol, and has since become one of the academy's most coveted attacking prospects of his generation.
Fernández was called up to senior preseason in 2024–25 and the club's US tour, where he produced eye-catching performances and earned wider attention. He has continued to log minutes for Barcelona Atlètic and remains a regular call-up to first-team training under Hansi Flick, with Wikipedia and football media listing him as one of the most promising European teenage attackers.
A left-footed forward who is most comfortable on the right wing but also operates on the left or as a central number 9 / false nine, Fernández is praised for his pace, dribbling sharpness, mobility across the front line, and technical refinement. His trajectory mirrors the recent run of La Masia attackers (Yamal, Lamine being the most extreme example) breaking into the senior team unusually young, and he is being managed with a long-term first-team future in mind.
