Bento Matheus Krepski was born on 10 June 1999 in São José dos Pinhais, in the state of Paraná, Brazil. He came through the academy of Athletico Paranaense and broke into the senior team in 2020, going on to play more than 150 matches and earning a reputation as one of the most technically refined young goalkeepers in South America.
In summer 2024 Al-Nassr signed him for a fee around €18 million, making him one of the most expensive Brazilian goalkeeper transfers in history. The Saudi club had identified him as a long-term replacement and successor profile in goal, where he plays behind a defence containing Cristiano Ronaldo and senior international team-mates.
His time at Al-Nassr has continued to develop his footwork-heavy playing style, which has become a Brazilian national team asset under Dorival Júnior. He plays with a high starting position, sweeps actively behind a high defensive line and is comfortable initiating possession sequences with his feet.
For Brazil he debuted in 2024 and was the first-choice goalkeeper through the 2024 Copa América, ahead of more senior names like Alisson, Ederson and Weverton. He has continued through the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign as one of the rotation options under Dorival.
Standing 1.94 m, Bento is a right-footed goalkeeper with the size to dominate his area and the technical comfort to play as a modern sweeper-keeper. His combination of shot-stopping, distribution and command of the penalty area draw comparisons to a young Alisson, the player he is most often projected to succeed in the Brazilian net.
