Charlie Patino was born on 17 October 2003 in Watford, England. After starting out at St Albans City and spending several years at Luton Town, he joined Arsenal's Hale End academy at the age of 11 in 2015. He rose rapidly through Arsenal's youth setup, representing the under-18 side at just 14, and signed his first professional contract with the club in October 2020.
Patino made his senior debut for Arsenal on 21 December 2021, coming off the bench in a 5–1 EFL Cup quarter-final victory over Sunderland and scoring the final goal of the game. That same month he was included in The Guardian's 'Next Generation' 2020 list, recognising him as one of the most promising academy players in the Premier League. He has since gained valuable first-team experience through loan spells at Blackpool in the Championship (2022–23) and Swansea City in the Championship (2023–24), scoring and contributing assists at both clubs.
A ball-playing central midfielder, Patino cites Santi Cazorla and Cesc Fàbregas as stylistic influences. In August 2024, he made a permanent move away from Arsenal, signing a four-year contract with Spanish Segunda División side Deportivo La Coruña.
At international level, Patino has represented England from under-15 through to under-21, making his England U21 debut as a substitute in a 3–0 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Luxembourg in September 2023. He also holds Spanish citizenship through his father, who was born in Galicia.
