Carlos Alberto Vivas González was born on 4 April 2002 in San Cristóbal, Venezuela. He was formed by Deportivo Táchira, the major club of his home region, and made his first-team debut as a teenager. Coming through at Táchira gave him early exposure to pressure, because defenders there are expected to play with emotional authority as well as technical discipline.
Vivas grew into a regular at Deportivo Táchira during a strong period for the club, helping them compete for and win domestic honours. His performances in Venezuela's Primera División made him one of the more visible young centre-backs in the league, and he gained a reputation for being comfortable in physical duels while still improving his passing and timing.
By 2026 he had moved to La Equidad in Colombia, a useful step into a league with high defensive intensity and tactical variety. Colombia has often been a natural testing ground for Venezuelan players, and Vivas' move placed him in matches where concentration, aerial timing and one-on-one defending are examined every week. It also kept him close to the national-team radar without removing him from South American football.
For Venezuela he entered the senior picture as the national team searched for depth behind more established centre-backs such as Nahuel Ferraresi and Yordan Osorio. The 2026 cycle has asked Venezuela's defenders to handle both long spells without the ball and more ambitious build-up phases, especially after the confidence gained in Copa América 2024. Vivas' profile makes him a plausible squad defender in that wider rotation.
Standing around 1.83 m, Vivas is a right-footed central defender who relies on timing, aggression and concentration rather than sheer height. He attacks first balls, competes tightly with strikers and can step into midfield when the lane is clear. His style is closer to a compact Lisandro Martínez type than to a towering aerial specialist, though he plays with a more traditional stopper's mentality.
