Ethan Galbraith was born on 11 May 2001 in Northern Ireland, where he came through the youth ranks of several local clubs — including Glentoran, Crusaders, and Linfield — before joining the Manchester United academy in 2017 on a scholarship. He signed his first professional contract with United in 2018 and made his senior debut in November 2019, coming on as a late substitute in a UEFA Europa League fixture against Astana.
Galbraith spent the 2021–22 season on loan at Doncaster Rovers in League One, where he scored a memorable 30-yard equaliser against Cambridge United. The following season he joined Salford City on loan in League Two, netting his first goal for them in a 1–0 win over Northampton Town. He departed Manchester United at the end of the 2022–23 season and signed for Leyton Orient before moving to Swansea City in July 2025 on a three-year deal.
A technically gifted central midfielder who can pick a pass and vary his delivery, Galbraith has drawn comparisons — from Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough — to Spanish midfield greats Xavi and Andrés Iniesta, though he remains a developing talent at Championship level.
On the international stage, Galbraith made his senior debut for Northern Ireland in September 2019 at the age of 18, in a 1–0 friendly win over Luxembourg. He has accumulated over 19 caps at under-21 level in addition to his senior appearances.
At Swansea City, Galbraith is expected to play a central role in the club's Championship campaign, having already scored on his debut in the EFL Cup with a volley from outside the box against Crawley Town.
