Luis Alfonso Abram Ugarelli was born on 27 February 1996 in Lima, Peru. He was developed by Sporting Cristal, where he matured in one of the country's most structured academies and became a first-team defender while still young, combining left-footed distribution with a calm defensive temperament.
After winning domestic honours with Sporting Cristal, Abram moved abroad to Vélez Sarsfield in Argentina. That spell was central to his development: Argentine football sharpened his dueling, concentration and ability to defend long phases without the ball. He later signed for Granada and had loan spells including Cruz Azul and Atlanta United.
By 2026 Abram had returned to Sporting Cristal, bringing back a decade of international, Argentine, Spanish, Mexican and MLS experience. At Cristal he is a senior centre-back expected to organize the line and give balance as a natural left-footer.
For Peru he debuted in 2016 and became a regular around the 2018 World Cup cycle. He played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, helped Peru reach the 2019 Copa América final and has been involved through later Copa América tournaments and qualification campaigns.
Standing around 1.81 m, Abram is a left-footed centre-back whose reading of play, first pass and covering angles are more important than raw power. He is often compared locally with Alberto Rodríguez for his calmness, while his left-sided build-up role resembles a Peruvian version of Lisandro Martínez without the same aggressive front-foot style.
