Nahitan Nández Acosta was born on 28 December 1995 in Punta del Este. Peñarol shaped him into an intense, direct midfielder whose energy immediately matched the club's emotional temperature.
He became a leader at Peñarol, then moved to Boca Juniors in 2017 and played in major Libertadores and Superclásico atmospheres. Cagliari signed him in 2019 and used his stamina across midfield and the right side.
In 2024 he joined Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia. The league changed, but his identity did not: hard running, pressure on the ball and willingness to accept unglamorous tactical work.
For Uruguay he debuted in 2015 and played at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups and several Copa América cycles. Bielsa values him because he can be a full-back, wing-back or shuttling midfielder.
About 1.72 m and right-footed, Nández is an engine player. He resembles a modern Diego Pérez for sacrifice, with some of Mauricio Isla's wide running.
