Yuto Iwasaki was born on 11 June 1998 in Hikone, Shiga. He came through Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo's youth ranks before moves to JEF United Chiba (loan), Sagan Tosu and Avispa Fukuoka — establishing himself as a senior J1 attacker.
His career has produced consistent J1 output across multiple clubs. The 2023 split season brought 31 J1 matches at Sagan Tosu with 2 assists and 29 J1 matches at Avispa with 2 assists; 2024 produced 38 J1 matches with a goal and an assist for Avispa; 2025 has continued at the same level with 34 J1 matches and a goal plus 2 assists.
For Japan, Iwasaki was a member of the squad that won the EAFF E-1 Football Championship in 2022.
In January 2026 he moved to V-Varen Nagasaki.
A 173cm two-footed attacker with elite acceleration, dribbling and the senior leadership of a multi-club J1 veteran, Iwasaki is one of Japan's most experienced wide attackers. He is in the wider 2026 FIFA World Cup squad picture as a wide attacking depth option.
