José Yordy Reyna Serna was born on 17 September 1993 in Chiclayo, Peru. He came through Alianza Lima and was one of the most celebrated Peruvian attacking prospects of his generation, breaking into the first team with the pace and fearlessness of a street-football forward.
His move to Red Bull Salzburg in 2013 took him to Europe while still very young. Loan spells in Austria and Germany, including time with Grödig and RB Leipzig, tested his adaptation, and later stops with Vancouver Whitecaps, D.C. United and Charlotte FC made him a familiar name in Major League Soccer.
Reyna later continued his career with Rodina Moscow, adding another overseas chapter after periods in North America and Europe. His career has not always matched the scale of his teenage hype, but he has remained a mobile forward capable of attacking space and unsettling back lines.
For Peru he debuted in the early 2010s and has appeared across qualifying cycles and friendly windows, though competition from Paolo Guerrero, Jefferson Farfán, André Carrillo and later wingers limited his permanent role. He remains associated with the post-2010 attacking generation that tried to refresh Peru's front line.
At around 1.75 m, Reyna is a right-footed attacker who can play as a second striker, centre-forward or wide forward. His acceleration and direct dribbling once drew comparisons with Jefferson Farfán, while his best moments also show some of Raúl Ruidíaz's instinct for darting into gaps.
