Dayot Upamecano is a French centre-back born in Evreux in 1998. He came through Valenciennes and moved into the Red Bull system, playing for Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg before joining RB Leipzig in 2017. At Leipzig he became a regular Bundesliga and Champions League defender, then signed for Bayern Munich in 2021. With Bayern he won multiple Bundesliga titles and extended his contract through 2030. Upamecano represented France at youth levels, won the 2015 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and made his senior debut in 2020. He started several matches during France's run to the 2022 World Cup final.
