Josip Stanišić is a Croatian defender born in Munich in 2000. He came through local German clubs and Bayern Munich's academy, then advanced from Bayern II to the first team. Able to play full-back, wing-back or centre-back, he gained regular senior minutes and won Bundesliga titles with Bayern. In 2023-24 he spent a loan season at Bayer Leverkusen and was part of their domestic double. Stanišić chose Croatia internationally, debuted in 2021 and represented the country at the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024.
