Jamal Musiala was born on 26 February 2003 in Stuttgart, Germany, to a Nigerian-British father and a German mother of Polish descent. From age seven he grew up in England, attending Corpus Christi School in New Malden and Whitgift School in Croydon, and progressed through Chelsea's academy before returning to Germany in 2019 due to personal reasons and Brexit-related complications.
He joined Bayern Munich at 16 in July 2019 and became the club's youngest Bundesliga goalscorer when he made his senior debut in June 2020. His professional contract followed in March 2021. He has won multiple consecutive Bundesliga titles and was part of Bayern's broader European success. In 2024-25 he scored his first career hat-trick in the DFB-Pokal and extended his contract through 2030. A serious ankle injury in July 2025 sidelined him for around 196 days, and he returned to action in January 2026.
After representing England at youth level, Musiala pledged allegiance to Germany in February 2021. He debuted for the senior team in March 2021 and played at Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2024 — winning the joint Golden Boot at Euro 2024 with three goals and being named to the Team of the Tournament. He was the 2023 Kopa Trophy runner-up and German national player of the year in 2022 and 2024.
Standing 1.84 m, Musiala — affectionately nicknamed "Bambi" — is one of the world's best attacking midfielders, built around extraordinary close control, dribbling in tight spaces, vision and the ability to score from advanced midfield positions across multiple attacking roles.
