Fábio Daniel Soares Silva was born on 19 July 2002 in Gondomar, Portugal, and came through Porto's youth academy. He made his senior Porto debut at 17 and quickly became one of European football's hottest teenage prospects.
In September 2020 Wolverhampton Wanderers signed him for around £35 million, then a club record. The move was difficult — opportunities and goals were limited — and he was sent on a series of loans to develop, including at Anderlecht in Belgium, PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Rangers in Scotland.
In 2025-26 Borussia Dortmund signed him on loan as additional firepower behind Serhou Guirassy, joining the German club to reset his career in a Bundesliga environment that has historically polished young attackers.
Internationally he has progressed through Portugal's youth ranks, including the U21 setup, and is in contention for senior call-ups under Roberto Martínez.
A 1.85 m centre-forward who can also operate from the left, Fábio Silva combines pace, two-footed finishing and physical strength — a profile that earned him the world-record-fee tag at Wolves and which Dortmund now hope to coax back to its early-career trajectory.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
