Luca Reggiani was born on 9 January 2008 in Italy and joined Borussia Dortmund's youth academy in February 2024 from Sassuolo's academy at the age of 16. In his first year at the BVB youth campus he played in the UEFA Youth League and helped the U17 team win the league title.
He has since impressed manager Niko Kovač enough to be promoted to senior first-team training on a regular basis. He made his Bundesliga starting debut and Champions League debut against Atalanta in February 2026, scored his first Bundesliga goal against Augsburg — becoming the youngest Italian goalscorer in Bundesliga history — and signed his first professional contract with Dortmund.
For Italy he has been involved at U17 and U19 level.
A 1.86 m right-footed centre-back, Reggiani is regarded as one of the most exciting teenage defenders in European football, exhibiting calm distribution and aerial ability beyond his years — and Dortmund's strategy of integrating him at speed reflects how highly the club view his ceiling.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
