Jesús Abdallah Castillo Molina was born on 11 June 2001 in Callao, Peru. He came through Sporting Cristal, where he developed as a defensive midfielder with height, tackling range and the technical base expected from players raised in that club's possession-focused environment.
Castillo became a regular at Sporting Cristal and then moved to Gil Vicente in Portugal in 2023. The Portuguese experience exposed him to a more tactical European league, even if minutes were not always continuous, and it added a different layer to his education as a holding midfielder.
In 2025 he returned to Peru with Universitario de Deportes, and by 2026 he was a central part of their midfield. At Universitario he is used as a defensive midfielder who protects the back line, wins second balls and gives the first pass after recovery.
For Peru he debuted in 2022 and has been part of the senior pool through the 2026 cycle. His appearances are tied to the search for successors and depth behind Renato Tapia and Pedro Aquino, especially when the team needs a stronger physical presence in midfield.
Standing around 1.85 m, Castillo is a right-footed holding midfielder whose strength, reach and simplicity are his main assets. He is naturally compared with Renato Tapia because of the position and size, while his tackling appetite also recalls Pedro Aquino in a less explosive form.
