Leon Klanac was born on 1 March 2007 in Germany. He started his youth football at FC Augsburg before joining Bayern Munich's youth academy in 2021 at the age of 14.
In 2023-24 he established himself as Bayern's U17 first-choice goalkeeper and captain, conceding just 23 goals in 25 matches with 12 clean sheets. His first call-up to the Bayern senior squad came on 10 December 2024 in a 5-1 away Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk, where he was an unused substitute.
He has represented Germany at youth international levels.
A goalkeeper who combines line dominance, reflexes and confident distribution, Klanac is being developed by Bayern as a long-term home-grown option in the goalkeeper room behind Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich and Jonas Urbig — exactly the type of academy product Bayern have leaned on for generations.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
